Rhonda M. Kurtz leads human resource activities for High Concrete Group where she is responsible for staffing, regulatory compliance, salary and wage administration, co-worker activities and the development of positive employee relations.
Ms. Kurtz brings over 15 years’ human resource experience to her position. Most recently she was human resources manager for High Steel Structures, Inc., an affiliate of High Industries Inc., both of Lancaster, Pa., a position she held since 2006. While in this role she led a corporate committee that introduced the Wellness Challenge, an incentive-based initiative supporting healthy lifestyles for co-workers. She was also responsible for hourly hiring, employee relations matters, wellness initiatives, salary and wage administration, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action program (EEO/AAP) outreach and compliance matters.
Previously Ms. Kurtz had been corporate manager safety, health and environmental services for High Industries Inc. While in this position she led the initial recertification of the VPP process at High Steel Structures, Inc. of Lancaster, Pa. Prior to joining High Industries in 1996, she was manager of health services for H.B. Reese Candy Company, a division of Hershey Foods.
Ms. Kurtz is past president of the American Society of Safety Engineers – Central Pennsylvania Chapter and a member of the Society of Human Resource Management. She earned a BS degree in occupational safety and industrial hygiene management from Millersville University, Millersville, Pa. She is presently enrolled at Penn State University where she is earning a MS in education, training and development.
